Computers & Digital Technologies

It is hard to keep up with the latest in digital technologies but we can help.

We have a variety of courses, classes and workshops to help you to update your computing skills whether it’s for work, to gain or improve your skills or a leisure interest. Our computing classes are available in different formats from flexible learning to classroom based or distance learning. Sessions take place in our welcoming computer suites with current software as well as a variety of computer spaces in our local schools in the evenings. We recognise that most people’s lives are now increasingly busy and studying the same time every week is very difficult, so we have four flexible learning centres which have a variety of opening times through the week which you can access your course through and we also have some courses available via distance learning such as SAGE, Social Media and Business Administration.

Improve your work skills with employer recognised qualifications such as ICDL (formerly ECDL), CLAIT, Digital Skills, Functional Skills, SAGE Bookkeeping\Payroll and Business Administration. To improve day to day digital skills we offer opportunities for you to explore the internet, communicate online, iPads, Photoshop, get blogging, and design a website.

All of our learners receive a free one to one personalised assessment where we will help you find a course at the right level.

The businesses courses we offer have all been selected to help enable better employment prospects. They all involve an element of computing and will enable you to gain skills that will help you to gain employment and enhance your future career.

Advanced level courses in ICDL (formerly ECDL), Bookkeeping and Legal Secretary are accessible with Advanced Learner Loans available to help you cover the costs.

If you are an employer, please get in touch to speak to us about tailor-made computer courses or work based learning. We also have a wide range of apprenticeships on offer.

Taught classes are offered in a variety of venues across the city where you will be studying with other learners at a similar level.
Flexible Learning Centres are perfect for those of you who find it difficult to do your learning at the same time and day every week. We have three centres around the city with a variety of time slots to suit you.
Distance Learning Courses can be studied from home. Learn at your own pace with online support. Generally these courses are not suitable for beginners.
