Adult Care Qualifications

The qualification provides the knowledge and skills for workers who have roles with responsibilities for delivery of care and support such as:

• Adult Care Worker
• Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker
• Personal Assistant

This qualification consists of mandatory units covering core knowledge and skills competencies with optional specialisms which can be are combined in flexible ways to reflect the real working context of different learners. The content of the mandatory units covers person centered approaches, communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, handling information, duty of care, responsibilities of the role, safeguarding, and, health, safety and well being.

You can start this course on a date convenient to you. The assessment takes place through portfolio work. You will meet with your tutor on Zoom, with fellow learners, for training and support. This enables you to complete the course from the workplace or your home.
The course will last approximately 10-12 months.

This course qualifies for the Advanced Learner Loan.

The Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care is an occupational qualification for learners who work in Adult Care Settings in England. The qualification is applicable to variety of roles, where workers have key responsibilities for delivery of care and support and /or a level of supervisory responsibility for others such as:

• Lead Adult Care Worker
• Lead Personal Assistant
• Key Worker
• Domiciliary Care Worker
• Senior Care Assistant
• Support Worker

This qualification consists of mandatory units covering core knowledge and skills competencies with optional specialisms which can be are combined in flexible ways to reflect the real working context of different learners.

These qualifications guide and assess development of knowledge, understanding and skills in leadership and management practice within health and social care and serves as the required qualification for registration and regulatory requirements for the sector in England.

For learners who work in health and social care in the following roles:

• Registered Managers
• Assistant managers
• Senior care/support workers/supervisors,
• Co-ordinators
• Team leaders.

And in the following services:

• Residential services for older people, people with disabilities, younger adults, children and young people
• Domiciliary care services
• Day services
• Respite services
• Community based services

This course qualifies for the Advanced Learner Loan.

The qualifications are relevant to people working in health and social care settings where individuals who are supported are approaching the end of their life. This may include health residential, domiciliary care and palliative care settings throughout England. The learners taking these qualifications could be care assistants, support workers or health care assistants

Learners will learn about various aspects of end of life care, communication, managing discomfort and supporting individuals with loss. The level 5 covers managing end of life services and advanced care planning.

Your course will last approximately 12 months.
