York Jobs, Apprenticeship and Skills Fair is a popular and established event, held four times a year. The Jobs Fairs have a proven track record in moving job seekers towards employment, meeting the needs of individuals and employers alike and, in doing so, contributing to the economic vibrancy of our city.

Where to go?

The jobs, apprenticeships and skills fair takes place in the Railway Institute’s Sports Centre. The whole building is step free and wheelchair accessible, including accessible toilets at the Queen Street end of the building. Limited disabled parking is available close to the entrance to the fair; please ask a member of the York Learning team for a parking permit to display in your car window when you arrive.

The Railway Institute is close to York Station, which is served by most local buses. Visit the iTravel York website for information about other travel options, including walking or cycle routes and local car parks.

Although access to the Railway Institute is not currently affected by the Queen Street roadworks, please be aware that these roadworks are taking place and may affect your route to the Railway Institute.

Where to go?

The Jobs, Apprenticeships and Skills Fair in the main hall of Acomb Parish Church Hall. The main entrance has steps or a ramp, but once inside there is step free access to the rest of the building. An accessible toilet is available in the entrance hall.

There is limited disabled parking at the church hall. More parking is available locally. Bus routes 1, 4, 5 and 5a stop around 150 yards from the church hall. More information, including walking and cycling routes is available on the iTravel York website.

Where to go?

York Barbican has step free access throughout, and the event will take place on the ground floor. Disabled parking spaces are available at the nearby Q-Park Kent Street. Accessible toilets are available and hearing and assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building.

The nearest bus stops are on Fishergate and Walmgate/Lawrence St, and York rail station is approximately 10-15 minutes’ walk or a short bus ride on frequent service Red Line 7. More information, including walking and cycling routes is available on the iTravel York website.
