The service is inspired by women returners for women returners, and works with a holistic approach in a non-judgemental environment. They promote a range of options for women wishing to return to the workplace but who face often insurmountable challenges of little or no confidence, social isolation, loneliness or mental health issues. Future Intentions are also a strong voice and advocate for women returners with mental health issues.
Future Intentions was founded in 2016 by Liz Hempshall, a women returner herself. They’re building a team of volunteers to help build the vision for better outcomes for women who are returning to work.
“A chance opportunity to meet Liz lead me to find out she was looking for a volunteer with admin experience, I jumped at the chance as I am currently unable to work due to mental health issues and doing voluntary work with Future Intentions has given me the opportunity not only to refresh my skills, but is helping me with my confidence. Although I am not yet well enough to return to work it has given me hope for the future” Maxine, Volunteer Admin Assistant
Future Intention’s client base is growing and they hope to help many more women to realise that having had an extended break, whether from a 9 to 5 job or a high flying career, is not the end of the road but the start of another path. The story behind the service is of one women returner’s mission to bring hope for change to those women whose confidence is on the floor whilst daring not to believe options are available to support them in their journey back into work.
Come and speak to Future Intentions about:
- Bespoke ‘back to work’ courses
- Workshops
- Employability initiatives
- Volunteering
- Advocacy
- 1:1 support
- Social group and support drop in
Clients are encouraged to challenge their self-limiting beliefs and rebuild confidence to move forward in work and life. We offer reassurance of ongoing support for as long as clients need it and opportunities to meet other women in the same position at social groups.
“Our services are not about selling courses and initiatives, but ‘hope’ for future change” Liz, Founder
